Substrate Inspection

After we know the rubber lined process, in the first step of involved rubber lined process is Substrate Inspection. Substrate Inspection is inspecting on substrate which will be rubber lined to detect:
    -  Rusting, mill scale, and rubber lining occurred
    -  Chemical contaminant
    - Substrate profile must be filled on requirement of substrate surface condition as in ISO 8501

Here the work instruction of Substrate Inspection:

1. Before rubber lining process started, check the welding quality and measure as the picture. The construction must be reachable in order to apply rubber lining process
2. Give special caution on the weld area and check the porosity, crack, spatter, or sharp side of material will be rubber lined.
3. If we find the defect just tell the customer of it.
4. Grinding the unflatten area of welding in order to avoid the gas trapped.

Cleanliness of substrate divided into four levels, which SA code namely:
SA 1 Light Blast Cleaning or Brush-off

 SA 2 Thorough Blast Cleaning or Commercial

 SA 2 1/2 Very Thorough Blast Cleaning or Near White Metal

 SA 3 Blast Cleaning to visually clean steel or White Metal

After we do Substrate Inspection for the next action is surface preparation, just see and wait on the next article.
